Abstract:

Swarna Bindu Prashana (SBP) is an Ayurvedic practice traditionally used to enhance immunity and cognitive functions in children. This paper explores SBP’s potential as an immunomodulatory intervention for pediatric populations. The formulation of SBP, involving Swarna Bhasma (gold ash), honey, and ghee, is discussed, highlighting its key components and their synergistic effects. The mechanism of action, focusing on the enhancement of both innate and adaptive immunity, as well as its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, is analyzed. The paper also reviews clinical studies, including observational studies and randomized controlled trials, that demonstrate SBP’s effectiveness in reducing infection rates and improving cognitive functions. The advantages of SBP over conventional immunization methods are considered, emphasizing its broader immune enhancement and cognitive benefits. Lastly, the challenges associated with the standardization, scientific validation, and global awareness of SBP are discussed, pointing to the need for further research and global recognition. In conclusion, SBP presents a promising complementary approach to modern pediatric healthcare, providing natural immunomodulatory benefits.
